John P. Felker

Name: John P. Felker
Year: Junior
Major/Minor: Political Science/ Pre-Law

What organizations and leadership roles do you hold?:
II belong to the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity as well as the Centennial Honors College. For my fraternity, I sit on the Judicial Board and I serve as the Interfraternity Council Co-Chair for Sigma Alpha Epsilon. I am also a Judge of Elections for the City of Chicago.

Why do you want to be King?
Becoming homecoming king is not something I sought but rather an honor bestowed upon me by my fraternity. I accepted the nomination because I believe this would be a tremendous opportunity to promote school spirit as well as school involvement. So many students, especially freshmen, are looking for activities to get involved in but are too hesitant to seek these activities out themselves. By actively displaying various organizations working together to put on a homecoming program is a public advertisement of on campus activities for students to watch, enjoy, and possibly become involved in.

What is your favorite part about being a student at WIU?
My favorite part of being a WIU student is the atmosphere WIU creates. By being located in the wonderful city of Macomb, not only does WIU offer small, intimate class sizes that allows for one-on-one contact with the various professor but it also provides a much more relaxed learning atmosphere for the students to enjoy.

What is your favorite Homecoming memory?
As this is my first homecoming as a WIU student, I currently do not have any homecoming memories, however, I plan on using this current homecoming to make memories that will last for a lifetime.

What is your favorite Homecoming Event and why?
Since I have not engaged in any of the homecoming activities myself, from what I have read and heard, International Chef seems to pop out to me as a very interesting event. It combines two of my favorite things in life, food and creativity.
